ABOUT US

We are an open book! Below you will find our mission and vision.
Feel free to ask us anything you need.

It is our hope that these pages will answer three basic questions: What is JLBC? How does JLBC serve the community? Where can I fit into JLBC?

  • What is Junior League of Battle Creek?
The Junior League of Battle Creek (JLBC) is an organization of diverse women committed to promoting volunteering, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. Our collective vision is for women around the world to be catalysts for lasting community change.

  • How does JLBC support and serve the community?
JLBC works with several community partners on volunteer projects throughout the year, including painting at Safe Place, Trunk or Treat, activity boxes for foster families, ending period poverty, and more. JLBC members also volunteer individually with organizations like The Share Center, Operation Christmas, and more.

  • Where can I fit into JLBC?

You can fit in JLBC in any way you'd like! There are opportunities for all women in                JLBC. Together we can learn, grow, and serve the Battle Creek area.

Three-tiered focus of JLBC

JLBC operates with a three tiered focus; volunteering, member development, and community impact. We believe that focusing on these three things is what our women, children, and community need.

Volunteering

Junior League of Battle Creek believes in volunteerism. We partner with other non-profit organizations to assist with addressing and fixing community needs.

Member Development

Encouraging and strenghtening the women of our league to be leaders of change is a valuable reason why JLBC exists today. We utilize networking to teach and mentor women to become succesful in her own career and within Leage itself.

Community Impact

As long as we train one another we will grow stronger as a community of leaders. We feel that engaging in trainings and volunteerism is a very important tool. Reaching out to the community only builds a stronger community.
